French Braids

After years working behind the scenes as a multi-platinum record producer, Mexico City-based jazz pianist and producer French Braids unveils his debut album of funky, globally-inspired electronic music. Coming off the 2024 development of breakout Mexican project YoSoyMatt and a remix for Poolside on Ninja Tune, 2025 unveils the album and additional singles with an all-star cast of global-funk connoisseurs including Poolside, Polocorp, Midnight Generation, Tim Atlas, YoSoyMatt, Eva De Marce, and Dragonette, in addition to forthcoming remixes for Miami Horror, Paco Versailles and BALTVHS.

The French Braids live show debuted in January 2025 to a sold-out audience in Mexico City, and was immediately followed by a set at Mexico’s Bahidora Festival. The live show emphasizes French Braids’ jazz roots, featuring his live improvisation on a variety of synthesizers while live DJing alongside a handpicked band of some of Latin America’s most virtuosic jazz percussionists and horn players.
